Premier's govt hit by turmoil after Berlusconi ruling20 September, 20:08
Letta's grand-coalition executive is in danger of collapsing in the fallout of the supreme court's decision to uphold a tax-fraud conviction against centre-right leader Silvio Berlusconi last month.
Berlusconi this week backed off from a threat to sink the government if Letta's Democratic Party (PD) voted against him on a Senate panel over a move to have the ex-premier stripped of his parliamentary seat after tax-fraud conviction was upheld by the supreme court in August.
But executive still looks weak and fragile.
