Voters split along party lines on Berlusconi ban
73% of Italians think PD should vote against him13 September, 11:41
Almost all (98%) of centre-left voters said Berlusconi should go while 89% of supporters of his People of Freedom (PdL) party said he shouldn't.
The average between the two sides came out as 73% of Italians in favour of centre-left Democratic Party (PD) enforcing a new anti-corruption law in a Senate vote to eject the media magnate later this month.
The SWG agency poll said 60% of Italians think the PdL should continue to support the PD-led government if Berlusconi loses his seat but 52% of PdL voters believe he should sink the unprecedented left-right emergency reform coalition.
