Author passed away Monday after 11-month clinic stay12 September, 15:09
Four people from the Villa Mafalda clinic in Rome were placed under investigation on Wednesday for his death to determine if they provided adequate treatment of Bevilacqua during his 11-month stay at the private structure.
Investigators launched a probe after his partner complained about the treatment he received.
Bevilacqua was a highly prolific author who produced over 40 books between the early 1960s until last year that helped tell the story of life in Italy after World War II.
