Clash of calendars for Berlusconi date with Senate
Parties argue over timetable to follow in debates11 September, 16:44
Berlusconi's centre-right People of Freedom (PdL) party and the Democratic Party (PD), led by Premier Enrico Letta, agreed on Tuesday to delay votes by a Senate panel on whether to strip the three-time premier of his parliamentary seat after a tax-fraud conviction was made definitive by the supreme court last month.
But debate raged Wednesday on the timetable.
On Thursday, the president of the Senate panel probing the Berlusconi affair will have to rule on the issue, said PD member Stefania Pezzopane.
