Cassation Court strengthens anti-stalking laws
Restrictions to protect victims further limit offenders09 September, 18:08
Stricter and clearer restrictions restraining offenders are meant to guarantee "the freedom of movement and social relations of the victim," the court said.
To stop victims of stalkers feeling "caged" in protected areas, offenders not only have to stay away from all places indicated in an off-limits list such as the home and workplace of the victim, but also must leave the area if the victim unexpectedly arrives.
The ruling followed an appeal by a stalking offender who found his restraining order "too generic and penalizing".
