Miyazaki confirms retirement at Venice film fest

On Sunday the 72-year-olds's Oscar winner's studio announced he would retire following the release of his latest movie, which has premiered in Venice.
Miyazaki won an Oscar for the film Spirited Away and is also known for such animated classics as Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle.
In 2005 Miyazaki won a lifetime achievement award from the Venice fest where his film The Wind Rises made its premiere this week.
The Wind Rises will reportedly be released in North America by Disney's Touchstone Pictures later this year.
