Employers, unions lay out priorities for govt
'We must be rowing in same direction,' says Squinzi02 September, 18:09
Fiscal policy, industrial policy, institutional reforms and efficient public spending were the three areas they said the government should focus on. The platform agreed by Confindustria and leaders of the CGIL, CISL and UIL calls on Premier Enrico Letta and his government to provide "interim relief for the economy" and long-needed reform of public administration, among other things.
The measures must be included in the 2014 budget, which the government will start drafting in October, they said.
Giorgio Squinzi, head of Confindustria, and union general secretaries Susanna Camusso, Raffaele Bonanni and Luigi Angeletti, signed the pact.
"We must be rowing in the same direction," said Squinzi.
