Group attacks foreigner who complained of late-night noise
Six arrested for racist raid and beating in Abruzzo30 August, 12:43
The incidents allegedly took place over several days before August 15 after a foreign resident of the town asked a rowdy group to keep down the noise in the middle of the night.
The group descended on one of the men, beat him, threw stones at the car he used (owned by another foreigner) then set the car on fire.
Several days later, the owner of the car was run down by one of the group members, police said.
The attackers are between 18 and 35 years old and all of them live in the town of San Benedetto dei Marsi, with the exception of the officer, police said. An underage boy is also being questioned for his involvement. The two non-European foreigners, 34 and 36, are both legal residents in Italy.
