Despite his advanced age and some ailments, the businessman is well enough to travel from his home in Milan, where he has been under house arrest for two months, to offices of Turin's prosecutors, doctors added.
Earlier this month, Italian police seized more than 250 million euros in assets from Ligresti's family in a fraud case at Italian insurance company Fonsai.
Property included luxury hotels from the Atahotels chain in Turin and Milan, bank accounts and insurance policies.
Fonsai is seeking 32 million euros in damages from the former majority shareholders in addition to a 245-million-euro payout approved in March.
In July, three members of the Ligresti family were arrested for alleged involvement in fraud involving 600 million euros.
