Francis arrives in Ford Fiesta for Feast of St. Augustine
28 August, 19:54
The pope wowed crowds in central Rome when he arrived in a compact Ford Fiesta car at the Basilica of Sant'Agostino, carrying his miter wrapped in cloth.
The event was a celebration of the feast of St. Augustine, as well as the opening of an international meeting of leaders of the Augustinian order.
The pope greeted children in crowd around the historic church, famous for its Caravaggio painting and a small fresco by Raphael, patting one excited child on the head.
