International prostitute trafficking gang found in Veneto
Used violence to bring young women from Hungary, say police27 August, 10:50
Operations by police uncovered an Albanian-Hungarian organization that police believe to be responsible for the exploitation of young women barely over 18, the legal age for prostitution in Italy.
The suspects, who are believed to have fled Italy, are being sought by Italian and International police for abetting prostitution.
Police said that the group used physical violence, threatened the women and demanded "protection money", imposing a "tax" of 50 euros per night for each woman, who were monitored by the pimps so as not to spend more than 10 minutes with each customer. Police tracked the gang partly through their money transfers of several thousand euros daily.
