Italians unable to buy medicines almost double in 7 years
Economic recession increasingly hitting families, report says22 August, 19:48
Whilst early on in the economic recession, family's purchasing power when it came to foodstuffs was eroded, today they are having difficulty in purchasing medicinal products. The report was drawn up by the Fondazione Banco Farmaceutico Onlus charitable foundation in conjunction with the Caritas Italiana charity.
"We are increasingly aware of a rising need for pharmaceutical products by some of the most important charitable bodies", said Fondazione Banco Farmaceutico president Paolo Gradnik.
"In some cases we are talking about real actual emergencies that result from the increasingly difficult economic crisis that is hitting above all families".
The two charitable bodies requested the Senate health Committee definitively approve the decree law that could permit pharmaceutical companies to donate medicine.
