(see related story)(ANSA) - Milan, May 13 - A prosecutor
described the Moroccan woman at the centre of a sex-trial
against ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi as having "oriental
cunning" and being lured astray by her attraction to "easy
money" at a trial hearing on Monday in Milan. The parents of Karima 'Ruby' El Mahrough "were unable to rein her in, and she exploited her physical beauty to her own advantage...(as well as) her story of the poor Muslim who escaped from her father-master," prosecutor Ilda Boccassini charged in her indictment of Berlusconi.
Boccasini also claimed that Ruby was "attracted by easy money" while her Moroccan family "broke its back working". Berlusconi is accused of paying for sex in 2010 with Ruby, who was an underage Moroccan nightclub dancer at the time. The 76-year-old centre-right leader is also charged in the same trial with abuse of office for allegedly interceding on Ruby's behalf in a telephone call to police when she was in custody on a theft charge.
