European markets rise on spate of positive economic data
Milan, London, Frankfurt, Paris gain, Madrid bucks trend

(ANSA) - Milan, May 10 - Markets gained across Europe on
Thursday, paced by Milan's FTSE-Mib index, as stocks benefited
from a spate of positive economic data released on Friday as
well as earlier this week.German data showed local industrial production gained 1.2% in March, while exports for Europe's largest economy increased 0.5%.
UK industrial in the period increased 0.7%, a report on Thursday showed. Chinese exports in the period gained 14.7%, fuelling growth in the world's second-largest economy. Milan's FTSE-Mib index gained 1.1% to 17,284 points. The yield spread between 10-year Italian bonds and the German benchmark equivalent, a barometer of Italy's borrowing costs in the eurozone crisis, closed down at 255 points with 10-year yields at 3.9%.
The Frankfurt Dax bourse advanced 0.2% %to 8,278, while the Paris Cac 40 Index gained 0.6% to 3,953 points. London's Ftse-100 stock market advanced 0.5% to 6,624 points. Madrid's Ibex index bucked the trend, dropping 0.3% to 8,544 points.
