(ANSA) - Rome, May 10 - Democratic Party (PD) organizers
announced Friday there was "broad backing" for former trade
unionist Guglielmo Epifani to be made the caretaker leader of
the party."At the end of two days of consultation and vetting, Epifani received broad backing," said a statement from the center-left party, who has been without a chief since Pier Luigi Bersani resigned last month.
