(ANSA) - Rome, March 22 - The president of Rome's Jewish
community on Friday denied calling the anti-establishment 5-Star
Movement (M5S) led by comedian-turned-politician "more dangerous
than the Fascists".
"I have never said that Beppe Grillo's movement is worse
than the Fascist one, nor have I thought it," said Riccardo
Pacifici, responding to an interview recently published in the
Israeli Haaretz newspaper.
Pacifici expressed shock at what he said were "false
thoughts" about Grillo and the 5-Star Movement that were
attributed to him.
But he added that in general the group he heads vigils over
the numerous comments that were posted on Grillo's blog since
these were reminiscent of the extremist leftist and rightist
culture, comments which are often hostile to Jews and Israel.
