Genoa court upholds priest paedophilia sentence (ANSA) - Genoa, March 22 - A Genoa appeals court on Friday upheld a sentence against a priest convicted of sexual violence against children, attempting to induce child prostitution, drug pushing and transfer of cocaine. The tribunal confirmed the sentence against Don Riccardo Seppia, former parish priest in Sestri Ponente, of nine years, six months and 20 days in jail. The court instead reduced from five years to four years and eight months a sentence against former seminarian Emanuele Alfano for alleged induction of child prostitution. Don Seppia's defence lawyer Paolo Bonanni said his client would appeal against the sentence to the Court of Cassation, Italy's highest court.
