Elderly Italian couple arrested with half kilo of marijuana

Wife stashed weed in large purse, police say

(ANSA) - Rossano, March 22 - An elderly married couple was stopped by police on Friday for carrying half a kilo of marijuana in their car while driving in the Southern Italian region of Calabria.

Franco Misuraca, 65, and his wife Giulia Citarella, 62, were arrested for possession of drugs and 700 euros in cash.

Police say she hid the drugs in her large purse.
