Rugby: Italy 'dream' of seeing Pope Francis at Pumas clash (ANSA) - Rome, March 20 - The head of Italian Olimpic Committee CONI, Giovanni Malago', said Wednesday that he hopes Pope Francis will attend Italy's November test match against the new pontiff's native Argentina.

"We have a dream," said Malago', who was recently elected head of CONI, the governing body of all sport in Italy.

"We'd like to have Pope Francis, who is a man of sport, be our guest at the Stadio Olimpico (in Rome) for the test match against Argentina".

One of the characteristics that has attracted attention about the new pope is his love of sport, in particular his support of Buenos Aires soccer club San Lorenzo de Almagro, a club named after St Lawrence of Rome.
