Pope Francis downgrades elaborate papal chair
Simpler version installed inside Clementine Hall

(ANSA) - Vatican City, March 20 - Pope Francis has replaced
the sumptuous papal chair inside the Clementine Hall with a
simpler version.
"You must have noticed the simplicity of the chair," said
Vatican Spokesman Father Federico Lombardi.
Francis was receiving representatives of Christian and
other religious communities Wednesday inside the Apostolic
Palace's Clementine Hall, known for its Renaissance frescoes and
