(ANSA) - Vatican City, March 13 - Pope Francis I is likely
to go to pray at Rome's Santa Maria Maggiore (St Mary Major)
Basilica on Thursday in one of his first acts as pontiff,
Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi told reporters on
Wednesday.St Mary Major is a papal basilica, which means popes often use it. Traditionally the pope presides over the service for the Feast of the Assumption of Mary on 15 August at the basilica.
