Band, Swiss guards enter St Peter's Square
Crowds cheer, sing before name of new pope announced

(ANSA) - Rome, March 13 - The Swiss guards and the Italian Carabinieri police force's band were cheered on Wednesday as they entered St Peter's Square ahead of the announcement of the new pope.
The crowd joined in singing the Italian national anthem when the band played it.
Many people had been singing and dancing before the entry of the Swiss guards.
