Thief seeks police help while chased by plain-clothes unit
Hotline operator tells him to pull over, face arrest

(ANSA) - Reggio Emilia, March 12 - A supermarket employee
who stole a television from the store where he worked was
arrested by police after a nighttime car chase in Reggio Emilia,
northern Italy.Unaware the car following him belonged to a plain-clothes police unit, the thief - afraid he was being followed by criminals - called a police hotline to report he was being followed.
The officer who answered, aware that his colleagues were following the thief, told him to pull over and surrender.
