Tax revenues up 2,8% in 2012 in Italy
'Property tax, VAT increases to thank' says Treasury

(ANSA) - Rome, March 11 - Tax revenues in Italy were worth
423.903 million euros in 2012, up 2,8% - or 11.697 million euros
- compared to the same period last year, the Treasury said on
Monday.
The growth was due to the effect of measures adopted
starting in the second half of 2011 which contributed to the
result for over 21 billion euros, the Treasury said.The measures include a new property tax known as IMU, the increase of the standard VAT rate and gasoline taxes, as well as taxation changes on financial capitals.
