Istat confirms Italy's GDP fell 2.4% in 2012
Negative growth of 0.9% in fourth quarter

(ANSA) - Rome, March 11 - National statistics agency Istat
on Monday confirmed that the preliminary gross domestic product
(GDP) figures it released earlier this month were correct and
that recession-hit Italy posted negative growth of 2.4% in 2012.Istat also confirmed that Italy's GDP fell 0.9% in the fourth quarter of last year with respect to the previous three months and 2.8% in comparison with the same period in 2011.
