Fiat strikes deal with unions on new contract
Pay rise of 40 euros gross for 80,000 workers

(ANSA) - Turin, March 8 - Fiat and trade unions on Friday
reached a deal renewing contracts for the carmaker's more than
80,000 workers in Italy.
The workers will receive a pay rise of 40 euros gross per
month this year, unions said.There will also be a productivity bonus of 120 euros per month from April, an increase on the current bonus of 103 euros.
The deal also applies to truck and tractor-maker Fiat Industrial - the non-auto company that was spun off from Fiat's carmaking arm in 2011. The deal was signed by the Fiat group and moderate Italian unions, who agreed to meet again on contracts for 2014 and 2015 in October.
The left-wing FIOM, the metalworkers' arm of Italy's biggest trade union confederation, the CGIL, did not take part in the negotiations.
FIOM is in a long dispute with Fiat over the carmarkers' attempts to introduce new contracts for flexible working practices at its Italian plants. It says these breach labour rights.
