(ANSA) - Naples, March 8 - Former Italian prime minister
Romano Prodi was questioned by prosecutors on Friday in relation
to an investigation into allegations ex-premier Silvio
Berlusconi bribed a Senator to change political colours.Berlusconi is being probed for allegedly paying three million euros to get Senator Sergio De Gregorio to switch sides.
De Gregorio, who prosecutors say admitted last week to receiving bribes, defected from the left during Romano Prodi's 2006-2008 government and eventually joined Berlusconi's centre-right party. The prosecutors are seeking to find out whether other centre left lawmakers were urged to switch to the centre right, judicial sources said.
