Former Parmalat chief released to house arrest
Seriously ill Tanzi serving 18-year sentence

(ANSA) - Parma, March 7 - A Bologna court on Thursday ruled
to release founder and former CEO of the food group Parmalat,
Calisto Tanzi, to a house arrest where he will continue to serve
his sentence for the fraudulent bankruptcy that led to
Parmalat's 2003 collapse.The seriously ill Tanzi had appealed an 18-year sentence handed down in December 2010.
Tanzi has been hospitalized in Parma's Maggiore hospital since February 18.
