Former Parmalat chief released to house arrest (ANSA) - Parma, March 7 - A Bologna court on Thursday ruled to release founder and former CEO of the food group Parmalat, Calisto Tanzi, to a house arrest where he will continue to serve his sentence for the fraudulent bankruptcy that led to Parmalat's 2003 collapse.

The seriously ill Tanzi had appealed an 18-year sentence handed down in December 2010.

Tanzi has been hospitalized in Parma's Maggiore hospital since February 18.
