European markets close up on good news from Wall Street
Milan exchange closes up +0.30%, Athens bucks the trend

(ANSA) - Milan, March 7 - In Milan on Thursday, the FTSE MIB
Index added 0.30% to close at 15,947 points, grazing the
psychological threshold of 16,000 points.
Largely unmoved by the European Central Bank's widely
expected decision to leave interest rates unchanged, the Milan
bourse followed suit as other European stock exchanges rose on
Wall Street's positive opening due to a drop in US unemployment
claims.Madrid's IBEX 35 index added +0.36% to close at 8,389,10 points and London's FTSE-100 rose slightly by +0.18% to close at 6,439.16 points. The Parisian CAC 40 index rose 0.53% to 3,793.78 points while in Frankfurt, the DAX index closed up 0.26% at 7,939.77 points. Athens lagged, its Athex index losing -2.79% to close at 936.57 points.
