Woman 'priest' seen wandering around St. Peter's square
Most likely a silent protest for female clergy
06 March, 13:41
(ANSA) - Rome, March 6 - A woman dressed as a priest
spotted wandering around St. Peter's square on Wednesday refused
to comment, but is most likely part of a group seeking to
liberalize the ordination of priests in the Catholic church to
include women.Witnesses said that the woman is approximately 60 years old, a "foreigner" and is wearing black trousers, a black shirt and a priest's collar.
In 2010 the Vatican caused outcry from groups supporting women priests when it made the ordination of women one of the most serious crimes under its canon law, almost on a par with child sex abuse.
