Investigators seize six million in relation to MPS case
New part of probe opened into alleged insider trading

(ANSA) - Rome, March 5 - Italian Finance Police on Tuesday
searched the homes of lawyers Michele Briamonte and Lorenzo
Gorgoni in Lecce, Milan and Turin, seizing money and shares
worth six million euros as part of probe into alleged fraud at
troubled Italian bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS).The operation regarded a new part of the probe, this time concerning suspected insider trading after news about board decisions was leaked to the media. Briamonte and Gorgoni are MPS advisers, and are not themselves under investigation, judicial sources said. The police reportedly also carried out searches for documents held by members of MPS's board of directors.
