Benedict praying, reflecting on first full day as ex-pope

Former head of Church may go for walk in gardens

(see related stories) (ANSA) - Vatican City, March 1 - Benedict XVI is having a day of prayer and reflection on Friday, his first full day as a former pope, Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said.

"He will spend today between prayer and reflection and he will see the messages that he has received," Lombardi told reporters after speaking on the telephone to Benedict's personal secretary Georg Gaenswein.

"In the afternoon he may have his usual walk in the gardens to pray the rosary".
