Pope enters St Peter's for last general audience
Benedict salutes faithful from popemobile

(ANSA) - Rome, February 27 - Pope Benedict XVI entered St Peter's Square on Wednesday for his last general audience as pontiff before he steps down on Thursday.
Benedict was cheered as he was taken around the square waving to the faithful from the popemobile. A group of children ran around the square shouting 'Benedict' as the popemobile moved. Flags from countries from all around the world could be seen in the big crowd.
