Man sets himself on fire before attempted-femicide hearing
Hospital says 31-year-old in serious condition

(ANSA) - Macerata, February 27 - An Indian man has been
hospitalized in serious condition after setting himself on fire
in front of a courthouse in the Marche city of Macerata on
Wednesday.Paul Bidhi Chad, 31, who stripped and doused himself in flammable liquid before setting himself ablaze, was to appear before the court on charges of attempted femicide against his wife.
He is currently undergoing treatment in the Cesena hospital emergency room.
Over 70% of the women murdered in Italy are killed by a partner, an ex-partner or a lover, said a study entitled Femicide in Italy in the last Decade, published in December.
