Florence tax director accused of bribery (ANSA) - Florence, February 27 - The provincial director in Florence for the national revenue agency is facing charges of bribery, authorities said Wednesday.

Nunzio Garagozzo, director of the agency, and an accountant named Silvio Mencucci are being investigated as part of a probe into bribery and inducements to corruption.

Financial police allege Garagozzo asked taxpayers for money in exchange for promises of lower assessments.
