Pope meets with Vatileaks three-cardinal commission (ANSA) - Vatican City, February 25 - Pope Benedict XVI will meet on Monday with the three-cardinal commission that investigated the so-called Vatileaks affair.

Spanish cardinal, Julian Herranz, Cardinal Salvatore De Giorgi, a former archbishop of Palermo and the Slovak cardinal Jozef Tomko were charged by Pope Benedict XVI to shed light on the Vatileaks scandal and produced a 300-page dossier presented to the pontiff in two parts - one in July and the other in December.

On Friday Benedict appointed Father Antonio Camilleri to replace Father Ettore Balestrero as the new undersecretary for relations with states amid rumours of the latter's involvement in the recent so-called Vatileaks affair.

Vatican sources said that the pope may authorise the commission to divulge the contents of their report to cardinals in preparation for the conclave during the general congregations on March 1.
