(ANSA) - Rome, February 25 - Pier Luigi Bersani's
centre-left alliance was ahead in the contest for Italy's Lower
House, the interior ministry said Monday.
It said the centre-left had 32.7%, with votes from almost a
quarter of the polling stations counted, compared to 25.86% for
ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi's centre right and 25.84% for
comedian Beppe Grillo's anti-establishment Five Star Movement.
The ministry said outgoing Premier Mario Monti's reform
ticket, which is backed by centrist parties, had 10.22%.
