(ANSA) - Rome, February 22 - Italian media were eventually
given backstage access Friday to a rally organized by comedian
Beppe Grillo and his anti-establishment Five Star Movement (M5S)
after police intervened.
Grillo, who was winding up his 'Tsunami' campaign tour with
a huge rally at Rome's San Giovanni Square, had initially denied
Italian journalists access to the event, although he did give
accreditation to foreign media and Sky Italia.Tobias Piller, the president of Italy's Foreign Press Association, told ANSA that the group was "sorry that in this important moment for Italian politics, the Five Star Movement does not respect the freedom of the press in Italy".
