Camorra boss arrested in Benevento
Sparandeo had been on the run for eight months

(ANSA) - Benevento, February 22 - Police on Friday arrested a leading member of a Camorra mafia clan based in the Campania city of Benevento.
Silvio Sparandeo, 48, had been on the run for eight months.
He is suspected of criminal association and mafia activities and must also answer to charges of drug possession and possessing false documents.
Meanwhile investigations are underway to identify possible accomplices in his eight-month flight. The Sparandeo clan is involved in extortion, usury and drug trafficking, police say.
