Bersani says didn't underestimate Grillo's appeal
PD 'only party to try to bring people back to politics'

(ANSA) - Rome, February 22 - Centre-left leader Pier Luigi
Bersani said Friday he had "never" underestimated the
anti-politics message of comedian and anti-establishment Five
Star Movement leader Beppe Grillo, who has benefitted from voter
disaffection amid a welter of political scandals."Grillo was underestimated, but not by me," Bersani told and ANSA forum.
"I've been warning about this disaffection for quite some time," said the Democratic Left (PD) leader, leading ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi and Grillo ahead of elections Sunday and Monday.
Bersani claimed the PD had been "the only party to try to bring people back to politics" with its primaries in November.
