Monti says 'governance' is needed for Italy
Outgoing premier underlines need for 'necessary' reforms
21 February, 20:09
(ANSA) - Rome, February 21 - Governance is needed for the
"good of Italy," outgoing Premier Mario Monti said
during the recording of the TV talk show Porta a Porta on
Thursday."But I do not think that an exclusively left government would live up to the reforms that are absolutely necessary to solve the country's problems," Monti said.
Monti is currently running with a centrist coalition for parliament, but speculation has made many wonder whether Monti would ally with the centre left for a ruling majority after the February 24-25 elections.
