(ANSA) - Brussels, February 21 - Italian Defense Minister
Giampaolo Di Paola told a NATO summit Thursday that it is too
soon to say when all forces should return from the ISAF mission
in Afghanistan.
"We can't say 'let's all go home'" at the end of the
mission "because the bottom line is the bad guys are still out
there," said Di Paola.
"We must maintain sufficient armed forces capable of
dealing with instability risks".
As other nations, including the United States, cut back on
their operations in Afghanistan, Italy is expected to keep a
training contingent in the country.
