Fini says female president would make Italy more credible
Italian House speaker calls outgoing Napolitano 'a moral guide'

(ANSA) - Rome, February 20 - Italian House Speaker
Gianfranco Fini came out in favor of electing a female president
of Italy on Wednesday.
"It would lend a lot of credibility to Italian politics if
the first female president were elected," he told a forum
organized by ANSA.
"Obviously without giving particular names," he added.The parliament, which is up for reelection this Sunday and Monday, will be charged with electing a new president in May when President Giorgio Napolitano steps down at the end of his seven-year term. Fini called Napolitano "a moral guide for Italians" over the years.
