Etna's first 2013 'flash' eruption comes to a halt

(ANSA) - Catania, February 19 - Sudden eruptions on
Europe's tallest active volcano, Mount Etna, that began around
5am Tuesday have already bubbled down, scientist said.The strombolian activity from the southwestern side of the volcano facing the Bove valley occurred far from residential areas. "It is the first 'flash' eruption in 2013 and lasted only a few hours," the National Institute of Geophysics Volcanology (INGV) in the nearby Sicilian city of Catania said.
