Village mascot deer killed in Romagna
Two-year-old domesticated doe Belinda shot and corpse taken

(ANSA) - Forli', February 18 - Residents in the small
Romagna town of Santa Sofia were shocked and outraged by the
murder of the community's mascot deer, shot dead and taken away
on Sunday night.Belinda, an orphaned fawn, was found abandoned at a nearby country bed-and-breakfast two and a half years ago.
The adult doe became domesticated and was a village regular, sleeping on doorsteps and eating from residents hands.
Citizens have petitioned local police to investigate and find the deer's murderer.
