Unexploded WWII shell found near Salerno railroad crossing (ANSA) - Salerno, February 18 - Police blocked trains outside Salerno Monday after an unexploded World War II cannon round was unearthed next to a level railroad crossing. Lines in both directions were held up during evening rush hour on the stretch of track connecting Naples to Reggio Calabria as officials worked to remove the shell and secure the area.
