Ivorian man sets himself on fire at Rome Fiumicino's airport (ANSA) - Rome, February 14 - A man set himself on fire Thursday at Rome's Fiumicino international airport, causing panic among travelers.

The man, a citizen of the Ivory Coast who was facing a deportation order, was rescued by a police officer who used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames.

Part of the terminal three departures area - where the man set himself on fire - was closed to the public.

Both the man, who is in serious condition, and the police officer who gave him first aid have been hospitalized.
