Dentists' association launches 'fake dentist' alarm
Approximately 15,000 unauthorized practitioners in Italy

(ANSA) - Rome, February 13 - Approximately 15,000 fake or
under-certified dentists are believed to be practicing in Italy,
the national dentists' association Andi said on Wednesday."They are false professionals, without qualifications or degrees," Andi President Gianfranco Prada said.
Investigators said that in 60% of the cases, the unauthorized dentists practice under the name of a certified dentist.
A hotline has been set up for patients to verify a clinic's authenticity (800911202) and check if the dentist is an authorized practitioner.
