Virus could slow or halt tumor growth, increase survival
International group of researchers publish study

(ANSA) - Rome, February 11 - An international study
published on Monday said that the use of a specific virus
injected into tumors could halt their growth.A group of researchers including Riccardo Lencioni, Professor of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy at the University of Pisa, published the results in Nature magazine saying that the survival rate for patients of certain kinds of advanced tumors improved after treatments with a cultivated virus.
