Pope says 'age' reason for stepping down
Benedict cites 'ingravescentem aetatem'

(ANSA) - Vatican City, February 11 - Pope Benedict XVI said
in Latin on Monday that his "ingravescentem aetatem", his
'advanced age', was the reason he had decided to step down as
pontiff at the end of this month.The German pope is 85. He made the announcement at a meeting of the College of Cardinals.
